Vaccination is an effective way of disease prevention. The procedure involves the injection of a biologic agent, which resembles a disease-causing pathogen, in a patient, whose body immune system can then be triggered to recognize agent and the pathogen similar to it, generating antibodies against it and, thereby, gaining immunity against the pathogen.
UMP offers a wide range of vaccination and consultation services, including packages suited for various stages of infancy and childhood, as well as those for frequent travellers or individuals with specific medical concerns, such as the Hepatitis B vaccine and the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccine against cervical cancer.
As a member of the Government Vaccination Subsidy Scheme (GVSS), UMP offers subsidised seasonal influenza and pneumococcal vaccinations to eligible Hong Kong citizens. Those who are qualified for the Subsidy should make an appointment ahead of time and bring any necessary supporting papers. For further information, please visit the Centre for Health Protection - Department of Health website.
The vaccination will be administered immediately following the successful completion of the pre-vaccination consultation, provided the doctor approves proceeding with the vaccination. All vaccinations are administered by a doctor, except at our Central centre where vaccinations may be administered by registered nurses.
The following vaccines are available at our medical centres in various districts. Fees include a pre-vaccination consultation with no additional charges. As stock and supply may vary, please check with the respective centres directly for availability and to make appointments.
